ABOUT CAPTAIN JJ

Captain JJ grew up fishing the lakes and rivers of the Colorado Rocky Mountains. JJ has always enjoyed teaching people how to fish while providing a fun and rewarding experience to those he takes out with him. JJ’s true passion for fishing really took hold when he moved to southwest Florida with his wife in 2015. He's spent most of his time fishing in any and every way possible from shoreline to inshore to offshore. Since beginning his Florida fishing adventures, Captain JJ established JJ Fishing Charters and molded his specialty to shark fishing. No matter if he is out 100 miles on the water, cruising in a kayak, fishing the flats or sitting just off of the beach, JJ is always excited to see what is lurking in the salty waters of SWFL.

JJ is an Army veteran, as well as a local fireman who has been a first responder for over 18 years, so it’s safe to say you are in good hands while out chasing those fish!

Key WEST 230 BAY REEF

We (myself, fiancé and son) went out on the boat with Captain JJ. My son had been dying to hook into something huge, and oh how his wish came true for his birthday! Captain JJ was so kind, patient and just a natural with my son (I would imagine any kid) in teaching, coaching and watching to make sure he was doing things correctly and safely. My son reeled up 4’ black tip and a 6’ Nurse shark, by himself…thank you making his 14th birthday so very awesome! We look forward to our next adventure!
